Test of English as a Foreign Language or TOEFL® is a standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers wishing to enroll in U.S. universities. The test is accepted by many English-speaking academic and professional institutions. TOEFL® is one of the two major English-language tests in the world, the other being the IELTS.
The English Language Institute offers two types of TOEFL® preparation courses for those individuals seeking admission to American universities, licenses, certification in professional fields, or proof of proficiency for job placement.
The ELI TOEFL® preparation courses are offered at convenient times each term. Classes are small to ensure personal attention to students’ needs, and instructors are trained test specialists.
The PBT TOEFL® Exam, offered at FIU by the ELI, is an institutional paper-based test and it is only applicable to FIU and no other organization.
