English Language Institute (ELI) General Program Policies
Welcome to the English Language Institute (ELI). To ensure a smooth academic experience, please familiarize yourself with our official policies regarding payments, refunds, and course transfers. These policies apply across our diverse offerings and are strictly enforced.
1. Payment Policies
To secure enrollment and participate in ELI programs, students must comply with the following payment regulations:
-
Payment Deadline: The program-specific Application Fee and the full Course Fee must be paid in full on or before the first day of classes.
-
Accepted Payment Methods: Payments can be made via:
-
Credit Card or Debit Card
-
Cashier’s Check or Money Order
-
Bank Wire Transfer
-
Note: Cash and personal checks are strictly not accepted.
-
-
Application Fee Status: The Application Fee is completely non-refundable and non-transferable.
2. Refund Policies
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your enrollment, refunds are heavily dependent on specific program timelines:
-
The Process: To request a refund, you must submit an official cancellation request in writing to the ELI Registrar.
-
The Deadline: The ELI Registrar must receive your written refund request on or before the fifth day after your specific program begins (or prior to the specific “80% Refund Deadline” listed under your program’s Important Dates tab).
-
Refund Amount: If a timely written request is approved, students are entitled to an 80% refund of the course fee. The application fee remains non-refundable.
-
Late Requests: No refunds will be issued for any course cancelled after the fifth day of the program (or after the designated deadline on the program’s important dates page).
3. Course Transfer Policies
If you cannot attend your current term but wish to defer your studies, you may request to transfer your funds to a future session under the following conditions:
-
Restriction: Course fees may only be transferred to cover a future course fee at ELI for the following semester and not beyond. Application fees cannot be transferred.
-
The Process: You must submit a written request to the ELI Registrar and provide a valid, documented reason for the transfer.
-
Deadlines by Program Duration:
-
5-Week Programs: Written requests must be received on or before the end of the second week of classes.
-
10-Week Programs: Written requests must be received on or before the end of the third week of classes.
-
Other Programs: Please consult the Important Dates tab on your specific program page for corresponding mid-term deadlines.
-
-
Approval: All course fee transfers are made at the sole discretion of the ELI Director and Registrar. No transfer requests will be approved after these respective deadlines have passed.
4. Important Administrative Notes
⚠️ Critical Deadlines & Written Notice
All cancellations, refund requests, and transfer requests must be submitted in writing directly to the ELI Registrar. Failure to submit these requests in a timely manner constitutes a waiver of any claims you may have had for a refund or transfer of course fees.
⛈️ Weather and Emergency Closures
ELI will not schedule make-up classes, nor will it refund any tuition or fees, for classes that are cancelled due to campus emergencies or official weather-related closures (e.g., tropical storms or hurricanes).
How to Verify Your Dates
Because application fees and precise calendar deadlines vary by track, always cross-reference these rules with your specific program’s webpage. Navigate to the “Important Dates” tab on your program’s page to confirm your exact 5-day refund deadline and mid-term transfer cutoffs.
